Description

This cemetery was dedicated in August of 1912 and was located on the west side of Helena, Montana, at the site of the Good Shepherd Home, a Catholic home for wayward and troubled girls. The Home was on the corner of Stuart and Linden Street. In February 1968, the graves were removed and reburied in the Resurrection Cemetery, Helena. The Home was demolished in 1969. There was a wrought iron arch over the entrance to this cemetery which read "Guardian Angels." The cross presently placed at the graves of the laypersons in Resurrection Cemetery came from the Good Shepherd Home and the statue of the Good Shepherd at the sister's graves in Resurrection came from the Home. The Sisters were reburied in the Sister's Section in Resurrection Cemetery, while the laypersons were reburied in the north corner of St. Lazarus.
