Koster Cemetery

The Koster cemetery is located on county road 1075W just north of 200S. It is sometimes called the Pleasant Ridge cemetery due to the small county church by that name located just south of this cemetery. This neighborhood burial ground existed about 50 years before Sophia Koster's deed to the Jefferson township trustee in 1907. There are 2 sections in this cemetery; North and South, separated by an East-West gravel driveway. The South part is the newer area. The NORTH part is the original cemetery and is more difficult. Markers are very weathered and many are now unreadable. Some markers have foot stones which appear to be in the preceeding or next row. The rows become more organized as the reader moves towards the western part of this cemetery. It appears there are unmarked grave sites. Description is courtesy of Janet Onken.
